Gu;d;ng and supporting [obrics
Most fabrics need to be guided only in front of foot,
however some fabrics need to be supported as they are
sewn (illustration Z).
• For tricot knitting and other similar synthetic knits,
apply gentle tension by holding the fabric at the front
and back of presser foot asyou sew. Do not pull fabric.
• For fine fabrics or with unusual amount of elasticity,
such as stretch knits (helanca) or Lycra, hold the fabric
firmly both fabric and threads at the front and back to
start a seam. Following this procedure, the stitch will
not pucker.
