Insert the effect unit (e. g. equalizer) in this effect way:
3) Connect the input of the effect unit to the upper front jack A
of the channel. Thus the signal way is opened up.
4) Connect the output of the effect unit with the lower front
jack B of the same channel. The effect unit is now inserted
into the signal way.
5) If the effect unit is to be removed from the signal way again,
with model MPB-48L just take out the plug at the upper
front jack A. With model MPB-48S both plugs must be
taken out of the front jacks A and B.
4 Combining and routing of inputs and
outputs
To be able to easily change signal ways of audio units among
each other, the connections for the units are combined via the
patch box. Furthermore, signal ways can be routed from the
rear panel of a rack to the front at the same time. With this way
8
of application 48 signals ways (stereo, unbalanced and mono,
balanced as well as unbalanced) are available.
1) At first always connect the upper front jack. Thus in each
case the signal way between the jacks A and B is opened
up, so that there are two signal ways. With model MPB-
48S the signal way is opened up as soon as one of both
front jacks is connected.
2) The lower jacks B of the same channel can now be used
for a further signal way.
3) To route the connections from the rear side of the rack to
the front it is recommended to exchange the front and rear
panels of the patch box by screwing the 19" mounting
brackets off and on again. Thus it is secured that while
connecting to the upper rear jack (previous front jack) the
connection between the jacks A and B is opened up.
