Installation
• Choose a suitable location for the device. Suitable loca-
tions are dry, even and antislip surfaces on which you may
operate the device easily.
• Make sure there is proper ventilation for the device!
• Sensitive surfaces such as the display may be protected
by plastic foil. Remove this foil.
Power supply (Adaptor)
1. Make sure the grid voltage corresponds to the figures on
the rating plate.
2. Insert the grid plug into a properly installed three prong
socket. Connect the device with the plug connector by in-
serting its plug into the DC 9 V
CAUTION:
• Only use the supplied power adaptor for this device.
Do not use for other devices.
• Only use power adaptor with 9 V (
tors may cause damage to the device.
NOTE:
Disconnect from mains power supply during longer peri-
ods of non-use.
Battery operation (not supplied)
1. Open the battery compartment lid on the back.
2. Insert 6 type R 14 "C" 1.5 V batteries. Pay attention to the
correct polarity (indicated on the bottom of the battery
compartment)!
3. Close the battery compartment.
WARNING:
The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such
as sunshine, fire or the like. Danger of explosion!
CAUTION:
• Batteries can leak battery acid. If the device is out of use
for a long period of time, remove the batteries.
• Different battery types or new and used batteries must
not be used together.
• Batteries are not to be disposed of together with
domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the
relevant collection bin or at your dealer' s .
NOTE:
If a mains adapter is connected, the batteries will be discon-
nected automatically.

First use

1. Fully extend the telescopic antenna. Stand it upright for
initial installation.
2. Switch the device to standby. To do so, press the
ON / OFF switch. The display turns on.
3. Press the STANDBY button to turn on the device.
4. The device automatically searches for DAB stations.
"SCANNING" and a progress bar appears on the display.
The figure on the right of the display shows the number
of radio stations found. Depending on which sequence
of channels you have selected (MAIN MENU
ORDER), it will play its first DAB transmitter.
When playing a radio station, the time and date is taken
from the broadcasting service. If the device does not
receive DAB stations in your location, set the time manu-
ally as described in "Setting the time manually".

• Use the UP / DOWN buttons to navigate through the menu.

1. Turn the device on.
2. Press the SETUP button.
3. Select the menu "MAIN MENU". Then select the sub-
menu "TIME SETUP". In this submenu, you will find the
options "SET CLOCK", "SET DATE", "AUTO UPDATE"
and "SET 12/24 HOUR".
4. Make the desired settings in the submenu. You can find
more detailed information on the options in the section
"Settings menu

General operation

Switch the device on / off
• Turn on the device by setting the ON / OFF switch to ON.
• Standby / On: Now you can switch the device between
Standby and On. Press the STANDBY button in order to
do so. The time and the date appear on the display in
standby.
• To switch off the device, set the ON / OFF switch to OFF.
NOTE:
The storage of the time / date will get lost as soon as the
device has been shut off with the ON / OFF switch, or if the
power supply is interrupted.
