INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The GAS ALARM GX-C3pro and the sensor may be installed only in dry, interior rooms and
must be correctly placed according to the type of gas to ensure faultless operation of the
alarm system.
It is essential to observe the prescribed sensor mounting height!
Placing of the sensor for
carbon monoxide (CO):
Mount the external sensor as close as possible to the
point of combustion or flue/chimney to be monitored
but some 30 cm below the ceiling as the escaping
gas will be heated and will initially rise.
The sensor may not be used in the following positions:
• places where the sensor is shielded from escaping gas (e.g. behind curtains or in
cupboards)
• directly above hearths or points of combustion or over a wash basin or sink
• next to a door, windows, ventilator, fan, air conditioning unit etc.
• in areas where dust or dirt can prevent the sensor from working
• in areas at risk of explosion
START-UP
The GAS ALARM GX-C3pro is simply plugged into a socket 230V / 50-60Hz. The LED on the
power socket lights up red for a moment, then the green LED on both devices. The gas alarm
system is ready for immediate use.
NOTE: various transport conditions (lengthy storage / humidity) can lead to an alarm state
being triggered immediately after the warm-up time (LED flashes red). Disconnect the unit
briefly from the supply and start the warm-up process again. You may need to repeat this
procedure up to three times.
TEST
The GAS ALARM GX-C3pro responds only to CO, so you can not test the unit with CO gas.
Intelligent software performs regular self-tests on the sensor. If a fault occurs, the yellow LED
on the sensor lights up and a connected device is switched off. To test the LEDs, the sounder
and the shutdown function, press the TEST button on the sensor.
DISORDER
If the sensor cable is not connected or not correctly connected, this is also a fault and a gas
boiler connected to the power supply unit will be switched off in any case.
