The WEG Motor Scan is a non-invasive device that periodically monitors the electric motor data, such as
vibration, temperature and running time, and detects occasional faults.
The sensor does not have wires, because it is powered by a Lithium battery built into the device. The battery
life expectancy is three years (for operation in an environment of 25 ºC).
It was designed for WEG motors in frames IEC/ABNT 63 to 450 (NEMA equivalent) and, after being easily
installed in the motor, the WEG Motor Scan must be configured using a mobile device and an application
available for the iOS™ and Android™ platforms.
The data shared between the sensor and the mobile device/App or Gateway are sent to a cloud where they are
stored and processed on the WEG IoT Platform. On a secure server, the data are analyzed and transformed
into reports, which can be viewed anywhere: dynamically directly on the mobile device screen/app and, in more
details, on the WEG IoT Platform.
GATEWAY
Based on the monitored data, it is possible to make faster and more assertive decisions through predictive
analysis, especially on the preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring higher efficiency and a longer useful life
for the motor.
Gateway: Through the Gateway (Cassia X1000 model), it is possible to transfer sensor data to the WEG IoT
Platform automatically. The Gateway has IP65 protection rating and is certified by the majors international
bodies. Gateway installation and operation information can be viewed in the full manual
wegmotorscan).

5.1. ALARM CONFIGURATION

It is possible to configure the sensor to trigger alerts based on such data, and to monitor every motor equipped
with the WEG Motor Scan on the same screen of the WEG IoT Platform.
In order to configure the alarm, consider the application where the WEG Motor Scan is installed and set
appropriate values for the healthy operation of the motor, both for vibration and temperature, following the logic
defined for the alarm criteria:
Normal (green): the motor is in its normal operating condition.
Alert (yellow): scheduling a preventive stop of the motor is recommended for a deeper diagnosis.
Critical (red): an immediate corrective maintenance job on the motor is recommended.
