Cable Glands
The cable glands on the harsh and j-box versions of the terminal serve two purposes. They provide
a dust tight and watertight seal to keep moisture out of the enclosure and they are also used to
terminate the protective shielding of cables connected to the terminal.
For the IND131xx J-box terminal, the European certification to the ATEX directive and the IECEx
certification require that all glands and plugs be ATEX-certified increased safety "Ex e" glands when
the terminal is installed into a Zone 2 or Zone 22 area. These certified glands are included on the
IND131xx J-box models with the -400 suffix.

The assignments for each of the cable glands of the harsh terminal are shown in Figure 2-25. The
assignments for the junction-box version are shown in Figure 2-27.
