N.B.: When working on reverse rims, it may be necessary to fit the special extension (see
Fig. I/3) onto the cone.
5- lower the lever (21, Fig. E) until the pressure of the cone on the rim pushes it down by
a few centimetres (see Fig. I/4).
N.B.: in this stage the bead pressing disc (22, Fig. E) must be positioned so that it does
not touch the rim or the tyre.
WARNING.
Moving the tool arms creates points with a potential hand
crushing hazard: always proceed with the greatest care and
attention.
6- close the clamps by pressing on the pedal provided, then raise the arm (19, Fig. E)
by moving the lever (21, Fig. E) up, remove the bead pressing cone and return the arm
(19, Fig. E) to the retracted position.

10.3 DEMOUNTING AND MOUNTING STANDARD WHEELS

A standard wheel is a car or van wheel with steel or aluminium alloy rim and traditional (not Run-Flat, UHP or low-profile) tyre.
DEMOUNTING
1) Lubricate the tyre beads.
2) Depress the pedal (7, Fig. E) to bring the arm (11, Fig. E) to its working position.
Do not place your hands on the wheel: when moving the arm to its working position your hands could be crushed
between the rim and the mounting head.
3) Turn the turntable until the part with the broken bead is in the 12 o' clock position.
4) Adjust the horizontal position of the arm according to the size of the rim and try to
place the head above the tyre.
5) Press the button on the handle (9, Fig. E) to lower the head (16, Fig. E). When the
head touches the tyre, pull the arm towards the rim until the head is placed correctly
against the outer edge.
Push the button on the handle down until the hexagonal arm (10, Fig. E) and the horizontal
arm (11, Fig. E) lock simultaneously.
The head (16, Fig. E) will be automatically lifted and moved 2 mm away from the rim
edge.
6) Start to turn the turntable and simultaneously lower the control lever (31, Fig. E) of
TC 450 - Liga C 270
