Laying the cable harness on the exterior
a) Pull the cable harness through the rubber plug on the ride side under the boot sill to the
actuator. Therefore, put a small hole into the rubber plug. (Fig09)
b) Take the plug behind the heat shield of the underbody to the actuator. To pull through the
cable behind the heat shield, we recommend using a steel wire. (Fig10)
There, the plug is connected to the actuator and secured with a lock pin.
5)
Mounting the activation switch
a) The switch is placed into the dashboard to the left side of the steering wheel. (Fig11)
Pre-drill the hole with a Ø 5,0 mm drill and then drill it out with Ø 19 mm step drill.
Put the activation switch into the drilled hole and screw it tight with the nut.
Make sure the plug fits properly on the front of the panel.
Connect the cable harness to the activation switch.
6)
Assembly
a) Fix the cable harness to the original cable harness with enough cable ties.
The assembly of the interior panels is done in reverse order than the demounting. Please
also follow the chapters of the KIA workshop manual for this procedure.
7)
Testing the system
a) Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition. The exhaust valve will open and close once. By
pressing the activation switch one, the system is activated. The switch now lights up in blue.
b) Start your test drive and verify that the system works properly and that all parts are fixed
correctly.
