TO MOW: USING THE LAWNMOWER
TO MOW
When you are mowing, always
hold the extension cable away
from the blade. The blade
could damage the cable. A
damaged cable can lead to
contact with live parts and
cause an electric shock.
Ensure that the electric cable
is always behind you, on the
side already mown (fig. 13).
Preferably, the cable should
always be placed in an unco-
vered area so that it is visible
from a long way away (ter-
race, mown lawn, path...). Do
not let the power cable rub on
corners or pointed or sharp
objects. Do not crush the
power cable in the corners of
doors or windows.
To avoid cutting through the
cable, the cable holder ring
allows you to pass the cable
easily from one side to the
other when you change direc-
tion.
Turn round on a part you
have already mown to avoid
crushing the grass.
When using the lawnmower on
a slope, be particularly care-
ful, especially when changing
direction. The mower must not
be used on slopes that are too
steep. Mow as shown in the
diagram (fig. 14).
If grass builds up under the
cutting deck, stop the motor
72
and unplug the power cable
before removing it.
As the wheel gauge corres-
ponds to the width of the
cutting deck, you can easily
see the cutting width. This
also allows you to mow close
in to walls and flower beds
and around trees. Therefore,
to obtain a neat lawn after
mowing, we advise you to
mow in parallel lines, overlap-
ping slightly with the wheel.
Never place your hand
or foot underneath the cut-
ter housing when the motor
is running.
After use, unplug the exten-
sion cable, plug first, then
from the power inlet on the
lawnmower, wind it up and put
it away immediately.
WARNING! If the cable has
become entangled or dama-
ged during use, whatever you
do, do not touch it, and do not
touch the lawnmower again.
Move away from the danger
zone and immediately unplug
the cable from the mains soc-
ket. A damaged cable may
only be repaired by a specia-
list.
MOWING WITH GRASS
COLLECTION
- Turn the mowing system
selector
to
the
(1-fig.15).
When you mow with the grass
bag, get used to judging when
it is full to the maximum. Stop
before the grass starts to build
up underneath the cutting
deck. On top of the grass bag
on the N37BPE model there
is a filling indicator (fig. 16)
whose position indicates when
the grass is no longer entering
the grass bag. The indicator
falls when the grass is no lon-
ger entering the grass bag. In
this case, it must be emptied.
The indicator rises when the
grass bag is emptied and the
motor restarted.
Emptying the grass bag:
Only carry out this
operation when the motor is
switched off and the blade
has stopped.
- When the grass bag is full,
release the operating lever
to stop the motor and wait
for the blade to stop com-
pletely.
- With one hand raise the
safety shield/deflector and
with the other hand lift the
grass bag to unhook it,
then remove it to empty it
(fig. 17). This operation can
be done from either side of
the lawnmower. Once it has
been emptied, be careful to
replace the grass bag cor-
rectly.
