Cover grooving (only for series NAV 31 – B957 tyre-changer)
The NAV 31 – B957 tyre-changers can carry out tyre cover grooving.
Treading is done with the special equipment (see the specific instruction manual).
It works directly on the tyre mounted on the chucking table that must revolve clockwise at minimum speed.
The sculpting is carried out on the wheel entry side.

MAINTENANCE

BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS, MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO
WHEELS CLAMPED ON THE CHUCKING TABLE AND THAT ALL SUPPLIES TO THE MACHINE
HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED.
5.1

Maintenance operations to be carried out every 100 operating hours

5.1.1 Machines NAV 11 – R926
A.
Lubricate slides 1, 2 (Fig. 52).
B.
Check hydraulic fluid level in unit 3 and top up if necessary.
PERFORM THIS OPERATION ONLY WITH THE MACHINE COMPLETELY CLOSED (HYDRAULIC
PISTONS EXTENDED).
To top up, use the recommended lubricants (see par. 5.2).
The oil does not need to be replaced.
C. Clean maximum pressure valve 4 (Fig. 52) with petrol and compressed air, and make sure that the valve slider
is moving freely.
D. Inject grease with the special pump in greaser 5.
E. Place the entire support 1 (Fig. 53) horizontally and then check the oil level of guard 1; the sight glass 2 must
be completely covered by the lubricant. If not, remove plug 3 and top up with the recommended lubricants (see
par. 5.2) until reaching the correct level.
F. Adjust the play of slide 1 (Fig. 54) on guide plate 2 by means of the adjustment screws of sliding blocks 3.
G. Check tension of belts 1 (Fig. 56):
• Remove upper guard 1 (Fig. 55) with a screwdriver.
• Tighten belts 1 (Fig. 56) with screws 3 after having loosened lock nuts 4 of motor 2.
• After carrying out the adjustment, tighten lock nuts 4 and replace protective guard 1 (Fig. 55).
5.1.2 Machines NAV 21 – B956
A.
Lubricate slides 1 and 2 (Fig. 57)
B.
Check the hydraulic oil level contained in control unit 3 and top up, if necessary.
PERFORM THIS OPERATION ONLY WITH THE MACHINE COMPLETELY CLOSED (HYDRAULIC
PISTONS EXTENDED).
To top up, use the recommended lubricants (see par. 5.2).
The oil does not need to be replaced.
C. Clean maximum pressure valve 4 (Fig. 57) with petrol and compressed air, and make sure that the valve slider
is moving freely.
D. Inject grease with the special pump in greasers 5 (Fig. 57), 1 (Fig. 58), 1 (Fig. 59) and 1 (Fig. 60).
E. Place the entire support 1 (Fig. 61) horizontally and then check the oil level of guard 1; the sight glass 2 must
be completely covered by the lubricant. If not, remove plug 3 and top up with the recommended lubricants (see
par. 5.2) until reaching the correct level.
F. Adjust the play of slide 1 (Fig. 64) on guide plate 2 by means of the adjustment screws of sliding blocks 3.
G. Check tension of belts 4 (Fig. 61):
• Remove upper guard with a screwdriver.
• Tighten belts 4 (Fig. 61) with screws 5 after having loosened lock nuts and screws 6 securing the motor 7
to the frame.
• After carrying out the adjustment, tighten lock nuts and secure the motor 7 to the frame and fit the belt
guard 4.
