Installation and assembly
5.1
Preparation of excavation pit
To ensure that there is sufficient working space and that the vortex flow control shaft can be compacted
evenly, the base area of the excavation pit must project sufficiently beyond the vortex flow control shaft
dimensions by at least 300 mm on each side. If necessary, a slope in accordance with DIN 4124 shall be
constructed. The subsoil must be horizontal and level and guarantee sufficient load-bearing capacity. The
depth of the excavation pit must be dimensioned so that the maximum installation depth up to the shaft
bottom is not exceeded. A layer of round grain gravel (grain size 8/16 according to DIN 4226-1), at least
100 mm thick, is applied as a stable substructure.
Important: For the year-round use of the system, it is necessary to install the water-carrying parts of the
system in a frost-free area.
5.2
Preparation VS-Control External
VS-Control External S
The desired installation depth can be achieved by shortening the base body of the VS-Control External
vortex flow control shaft.
Important: The specified shortening lengths take into account the necessary fit of the profile seal. The
base body of the VS-Control External vortex flow control shaft cannot be shortened at will.
5.3
Preparation of intermediate pieces
5.3.1 Shorten VS inlet module and VS intermediate piece DN 400
The required installation depth can be achieved by shortening the inlet module or the intermediate piece.
