Paint nozzle not se-
cured tightly.
Damaged or soiled air
distribution ring.
Bore holes in air noz-
zle clogged with paint.
Paint nozzle tip (paint
nozzle in) damaged.
Air distribution ring
positioned incorrectly
(pin not in bore hole)
or damaged.
Not enough spray me-
dium in suction cup.
Round/flat fan control
turned too sharply
counterclockwise;
spindle in gun thread-
ing loose.
Air piston seat dirty.
Air piston is worn.
Cleaning fluid (aque-
ous) remains too long
on gun.
Unsuitable cleaning
fluids used.
Corrective action
Tighten paint nozzle
using universal wrench.
Replace air distribution
ring (see 9.2).
Clean air nozzle. Read
and follow cleaning
instructions (see 10).
Check paint nozzle tip
for damage and replace
nozzle set if necessary
(see 9.1).
Replace air distribution
ring (see 9.2).
Fill suction cup
(see 8.2).
Remove round/flat fan
control with universal
wrench and make oper-
ational or replace com-
pletely (see 9.6).
Clean air piston seat.
Read and follow
cleaning instructions
(see 10).
Replace air piston
and air piston packing
(see 9.4).
Have gun body re-
placed. Read and follow
cleaning instructions
(see 10).
