Functioning

(Fig. 3 on page 32)
The aspirated fl uid passes through the collector fi lter (part. 1). The spittoon (part. 2),
must be timed for 20 seconds; the fi lter, situated inside the spittoon, must hold back the
solid particles. A safety fi lter (part. 3), is situated on drainage spittoon unit. The fi ltration
preserves the integrity of the centrifugal separator (part. 4), and ensures the correct
functioning of the valves (parts 5-6 and 10).
The liquid, draining from the spittoon, passes through the fi lter-holder (part. 11), and
then enters cylinder 9. When the liquid wets probe 7, the suction begins to function and
Electro-valve 5 opens. Once the liquid has left probe no. 8, valve 5 closes, whilst the
aspiration, timed at drop out, remains functioning for the amount of time (adjustable)
necessary for draining the tubes. Tube 12, directed upwards, will permit the evacuation
of air present at the entrance of water in the drainage unit, and favours the discharge of
liquids. In cylinder 9, the bottom is always full up to the level of probe 13.
The fl uid aspirated by the tips, (part. 14) enters into the centrifugal separator (part. 4)
where air is separated from liquids; water leaves the centrifugal separator through exit
18 and tube 15 and enters the Hydrocyclone, where it deposits the amalgam in the col-
lector (part. 20), and afterward is drained into the waste.
The Electro-pneumatic valve (part. 10), is useful only in centralised installations; it opens
and closes the suction in the surgeries connected to the same suction.

Maintenance

(Fig. 3 on page 32)
• Biological hazard, infection from epidemiological diseases.
• Generic warning sign.
Before each operation with used equipment, carry out several washes with Puli-Jet
plus.
Disconnect the equipment from the network and padlock the on/off switch if nec-
essary.
For any maintenance operation, put on gloves, mask and disposable goggles. The
aspirated liquid is infected and contaminates with infectious diseases; furthermore, the
equipment might be pressurised, with an obviously higher risk of contaminating spray.
At the end of each work day, wash the installation as per the instructions, aspirating Puli-
Jet plus diluted with warm water (50 °C). Aspirate the solution using Pulse Cleaner; in
this way, the detergent disinfecting action of Puli-Jet plus will be added to the turbulence
necessary to clean the equipment thoroughly. After thus cleaning, remove the fi lter (part.
3), ensuring that it does not drip, and discharge the content as described for the type of
waste present, them disinfect and rinse.
When using the ISO Hydrocyclone consult manual "ISO Hydrocyclone and its
applications".
Disposal of collected amalgam must be carried out by authorised companies in compli-
ance with the regulations concerning the disposal of contaminating, toxic and harmful
waste.
