These operating instructions are an integral part of the product
and provide the user with information on the safe operation of
the unit.

Warranty and liability

Webasto shall not assume liability for defects or damage that are
the result of the installation and operating instructions being disre-
garded.
This liability exclusion particularly applies for:
■ Installation by untrained personnel
■ Improper use
■ Repairs not carried out by a Webasto service workshop
■ Use of non-original spare parts
■ Conversion of the unit without permission from Webasto
■ Mechanical damage to the equipment
■ Failure to comply with inspection and maintenance instructions

Safety

2.1

Intended use

Under all aspects the Cool Top RTE 16 is an air conditioner and so
the ideal companion for any stop; its features make the day or
night rest shift more satisfying and regenerative, thus rendering
travel activities safer.
The Cool Top RTE 16 air conditioner is designed for truck cabins,
for stationary use only. It cannot replace the original vehicle air
conditioning system. The manufacturer declines its liability if the
Cool Top RTE 16 is used in other applications as described herein.

The Cool Top RTE 16 air conditioning system has been type-tested
and approved in accordance with ECE standards (type approval
E24 10R-052087)

Installation

3.1
Qualifications of installation person-
nel
The installation personnel must have the following qualifications:
■ Successful completion of Webasto training.
■ Corresponding qualification for working on technical / electrical
systems.
■ Certified to work on air conditioning systems.
3.2

Notes on installation

NOTE
■ If the electrical cables have to go through bulkheads
with sharp corners, use protective sheaths or piping.
■ Firmly secure the electrical cables paying close at-
tention to their path along metal bulkheads able to
conduct electricity; furthermore, avoid contact with
sharp edges.
■ Connect the Cool Top RTE 16 to the vehicle's power
supply protecting the system by using a fuse.
