Counter cutting sharpening and
replacement
Good shredder performance usually depends on its
knives and counter cutting sharpening.
To release the counter cutting follow the following
description, according to Figure 9:
Loosen the nut (A) and the screw (D) , remove the
washers (B) , the flat washers (C) and remove the
counter cutting (E);
Turn the counter cutting 180º to use the intact
cutting line;
Replace the screws, washers and nuts. Tighten
them with a torque wrench according to the
"Torque Specifications" table.

In case the knives are completely worn or damaged,
replace them. Look for the nearest TRAPP Technical
Assistant.

Replace the counter blade if it's badly damaged on
both sides. Observe the measurement of the blade
and counter blade. If required, add a shim between
the counter blade and the funnel plate where the
counter
blade
instructions as shown in Figure 10:
Loosen the clamping screws from the counter
cutting (1) , withdraw counter cutting a little (2) and
insert the shim between the counter cutting and the
funnel (3);
Retighten the locking screws with a torque wrench
and close the funnel.
Attention!
If, when the shredder is on, you experience
excessive vibration or abnormal noise after
changing the blades or counter blade, turn
the shredder off immediately and contact a
TRAPP Technical Assistant.
Hammers sharpening and
replacement
With the disc out of the machine , loosen the
clamping screw (1) , remove the pin (2) and sharpen

the hammers (3), according to Figure 11;
By removing the hammers observe the spacers
positions (4) in order to have them always remaining
in the same position;
After the hammers are sharpened, put them in the
order described above and tighten the locking screw
with a torque wrench.
