complex equipment, this instrument will perform as designed only if it is used and serviced

The warranties made by Mine Safety Appliances Company with respect to the product are
voided if the product is not used and serviced in accordance with the instructions in this
manual. Please protect yourself and others by following them. We encourage our customers
to write or call regarding this equipment prior to use or for any additional information relative
to use or service.
1. Read instruction manual completely before use.
2. Do not test other gases with the Cl/ClO 2 , NH 3 or HCN units. All Altair QuickCheck Station
units are only to be used with the specific gas for which they are labeled.
3. Use the QuickCheck Station only in non-hazardous environments.
4. Repair or alteration of the Altair QuickCheck Station, beyond the procedures described in
this manual or by anyone other than a person authorized by MSA, could cause the
instrument to fail to perform properly.
5. Use only genuine MSA replacement parts when performing any maintenance procedures
described in this manual. Substitution of components can seriously impair instrument
performance, alter intrinsic safety characteristics or void agency approvals.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY
OR DEATH.
