Change sewing direction

Stop the machine, and turn the balance wheel to bring the needle down into the fabric.
Raise the presser foot.
Turn the fabric to change direction as desired.
Lower the presser foot to resume sewing.
Use strips of leg wire on the needle plate
The strips of leg wire on the needle plate is of great help to
maintaining width between the needle and the thread.
While sewing make the edge of fabric always aligned with the
strips of leg wire, so that can ensure that the stitch width as the
width of edge of fabric.
