5) Check the anode metal for corrosion. Replace the anode
metal with a new one if it is corroded excessively.

6) Set the 116 mm lead wire between the projections on the
anode metal as shown, and install the anode metal with the

two 6 x 23 mm flange bolts securely.
7) Tighten the 6 x 8 mm screw securely so that the 116 mm

lead wire on the power trim/tilt assembly side is installed at
the angle shown.

8) While holding the 7/8-14 UNF self-locking nut on the
R. stern bracket side, tighten the 7/8-14 UNF self-locking nut

on the L. stern bracket side to the specified torque.

9) After tightening to the specified torque, loosen the 7/8-14
UNF self-locking nut on the L. stern bracket side by

After installing the 7/8-14 UNF self-locking nut, apply rust-
preventive agent to the threads of the tilting shaft.
Tighten the 10 mm self-locking nut of the 10 x 158 mm hex
bolt to the specified torque (P. 14-39).
TORQUE: 35 N . m (3.6 kgf . m, 26 lbf . ft)
Install the tilting bolt cap.
