warNINg: Always stop the water supply and unplug or
disconnect all appliances in the pond from the electrical
supply while the equipment is being installed, repaired,
maintained or handled. Never yank the cord and never lift
the appliance by the cable.
It is recommended that you:
• Make sure that internal parts of the appliance are dry before,
during and after the maintenance operations.
• Check that all the components are present and have been
reassembled in the correct way; if in doubt consult your local
dealer for a replacement of the defective component.
• Check that there are no leaks inside the appliance before
connecting it to the electrical supply after maintenance.
Lubrication is not required on the air pump or any of its parts.
Remove dust and grime from the outer shell with a soft,
damp cloth. Do not immerse the air pump in water. Regular
maintenance to the air pump is essential in order to maintain
a good level of output and pressure; change the spare parts
regularly. When not in use, store the air pump in a dry and dust
free area. In order for the air pump to perform at its capacity, it
should run for a minimum of 20 minutes every 2 ~ 3 days.
rEMoVINg ThE aIr PUMP:
Whenever the air pump must be shut off and removed from the
aeration system, always take off the air line before the air pump
is unplugged. This will prevent water from siphoning back into
the air pump. If the air line cannot be removed before unplugging
the power cord, raise the air pump above the water level.
FILTEr MEDIa:
The integrated air filter requires periodic cleaning.
Pt1620
To clean the filter media:
1. Remove the air filter cover located at the back of the filter.
(Fig 7).
2. Extract the filter media from the air pump (Fig 8) and rinse
thoroughly with cold water and let air dry.
3. Replace the filter media into the filter cavity.
4. Replace the filter cover and snap closed.
Pt1624
To clean the filter media:
1. Remove the air filter cover located at the top of the filter (Fig 9).
2. Extract the filter media from the air pump (Fig 10) and rinse
thoroughly with cold water and let air dry.
3. Replace the filter media into the filter cavity.
4. Replace the filter cover and snap closed.

aIr SToNE & aIr LINE:
The air system should be periodically checked and cleaned.
• Air lines should be carefully inspected whenever standard
pond maintenance is performed. Adjust, or if required, replace
all sections which are pinched, kinked, or otherwise damaged.
• All attached air-driven pond accessories should be regularly
maintained. Algae growths should be removed from moving
parts and kept as clean as possible. Internal air tubes should
be cleaned.
• Air stones should be kept clean and free of debris or algae
build-up. The ideal situation is to replace them every month.
Clogged air stones and air-driven pond accessories will lead
to low air pressure output and also reduce the life of the
8
diaphragms.
TroUbLE ShooTINg TIPS:
1. if the air pump fails to produce air, check the following:
A. Ensure that the air pump is plugged in.
B. Ensure that there are no blockages or kinks in the air hose
assembly and that all valves allow air passage. If no air is
produced by the air stone, remove the air line from the air
pump and ensure that air is being produced.
C. If the air pump produces no output, the most common
problem encountered with any air pump is a ripped or
weakened diaphragm. Any opening in the diaphragm will
make it impossible for the air pump to produce air for aeration
purposes. For service please contact the customer service
department listed on the back cover of this maintenance guide.

2. Winter
A. During the winter months, damp air can condense onto the
inside wall of the hose and freeze. This can eventually cause
the hose to block completely; remember to check the airlines
frequently during periods of freezing temperatures.
3. to prevent back-siphoning when removing the air stone
from the pond, do the following:
A. Ensure a check valve has been installed (see installation).
B. Leave the air pump running while you disconnect the tubing
from the air pump.
C. Disconnect the tubing and put this end of the tubing in
the pond.
D. The air stone can now be safely removed from the pond.
