8 Use of the Device during Surgery
The function test must be performed prior to each surgery.
Please read the chapter 6 Safety Functions, page 31 carefully before using the
device. This chapter details all safety notes, optical and acoustical alarms, and
error messages. The function test must be successfully concluded before surgery.
The surgeon has to select an irrigation fluid suitable for the application and
medical procedure.
1. At the pump, choose the desired intrauterine nominal pressure and nominal
flow.
2. Press the Start/Stop key. The roller wheel starts to turn. Insert the instrument
filled completely with irrigation fluid into the uterine cavity.
1. Close supply valve at hysteroscope.
2. Wait until the entire fluid volume has flowed out of the uterus, outflow apron
and tubing system into the bottle/container.
3. Press the Start/Stop key.
4. Check the displayed value in the deficit display.
5. Use the ON/OFF key to turn the device off.
6. Remove the tube set and the bags.
Observe applicable hygiene regulations when disposing of the tube set.
7. Remove the containers from the scale. Empty the containers. Observe
hygiene regulations when disposing of the fluids and containers.
When using rinsing solutions that contain sugar (for example HF usage) it is
recommended that the tubing set be emptied with help of the pump, after
removing the fluid containers and the instrument.
