Installation, low speed and/or trolling function:
1.
Align the engine with the propeller axle, according to
the standard procedure.
2.
Install the toothed wheel components (1) with the
screws (1A), two on each side, as in fig. 1.
3.
Install engine speed sensor (2) in bracket (3) with
flange screw (4) and locknut (5). See fig. 2.
4.
Install bracket (3) with washers (6) and flange screw
(7) as in the appropriate reversing gear figure.

Important! Check that the tachometer is in-
stalled at right angles to the toothed wheel.
Adjust the bracket so that the tachometer is not
more than 0.5 mm from the toothed wheel. Use a
feeler gauge.
Rotate the toothed wheel a number of revolutions to
ensure that it does not contact the engine speed
sensor.
5.
Clean the areas around cover (B) carefully, then re-
move cover (B). Please refer to the appropriate re-
versing gear figure.
6.
Install gasket (8) and valve housing (9) with the ap-
propriate screw (C). Please refer to the appropriate
reversing gear figure.
7.
Install valve seal (10) in valve housing (9). Tighten-
ing torque 34 Nm.
8.
Connect the transmission cable connector (D),
marked "trolling" to the valve seal connector (E) as in
figure 3 and the appropriate reversing gear figure.
9.
Connect the transmission cable connector (F) to the
engine speed sensor (2) as in figure 3 and the appro-
priate reversing gear figure.
10.
Instruction for activation and installation of the Volvo
Penta Low speed and/or Volvo Penta Trolling func-
tions:
Important! In a twin installation, the procedure
must be done for each driveline's PCU (Power-
train Control Unit) individually.
Note! The instructions in items A and B should only
be done when the function is retrofitted. Instructions
A and B shall not be done when the function is inclu-
ded in the order of a new engine and reversing gear.

Order an accessory kit for activation of the Volvo
Penta Low speed and/or Volvo Penta Trolling func-
tions (order one for each driveline in a twin installa-
tion).
