ROW MARKER FOR A FOLDING FRAME
The row marker device has a valve that actuates the two arms
alternately, so reducing use to a single tractor hydraulic distributor.
The hydraulic delivery pipe has a tap (1, Fig. 45) that is necessary
for excluding the operation of the row marker. During road
transport of the planter, the tap lever must be put in position A
(Fig. 45), to prevent accidental opening of the row marker; this
lever is in position B while working.
When the system is not in use protect the quick couplings with
the hoods provided and house the hydraulic pipes in the support
provided for the purpose.
In order to use correctly the equipment, operate as follows:
1) Hook the planting unit to the tractor three-point coupling using
suitably sized pins equipped with the necessary safety
devices (retainer clips, spring pins, etc.).
2) Connect the planting unit hydraulic pipes to the tractor
distributors (see chapter 3.1).
3) Before switching the machine on, make sure that there are
no people, children, animals or any object that could get in
the way of the machine, and ensure that there is excellent
visibility in the area of operation.
4) Open the side frames of the planter (see chapter 3.7.1).
OPENING
5) Before actuating the row marker device, rest the planter on
the ground and put the tap lever in position (B) Fig. 45.
6) Actuate the system for moving the row marker.
CLOSING
7) Put both row marker arms in the transport position with the
hydraulic system (Fig. 46).
8) Put the tap lever in position (A) Fig. 45.
9) Rest the planter on the ground, put on the hand brake, stop
the engine, remove the ignition key from the control panel
and discharge the pressure from the hydraulic system.
In the working position, the segments of the row marker arms
must be aligned as shown in Fig. 48. This condition is obtained
by adjusting the length of the tie rod (A, Fig. 47) observing the
measurement shown.
Only the outer segment of the row marker has a safety pin (A,
Fig. 49). In the event of accidental knocking against an obstacle,
the safety pin breaks off to allow the outer segment to fold
backwards so guaranteeing that the structure remains intact. On
the articulated joint of the arm there are another two safety pins
(B, Fig. 49) that can be used to restore the functioning of the row
marker.
