Avoid damaging the surface of the stainless steel, especially by bringing into contact with metals oth-
er than stainless steel.

Residues from other metals produce extremely small amounts of chemical elements which can cause
corrosion. Contact with iron and steel must be avoided at all costs, because it will cause extraneous
rust. If stainless steel comes into contact with iron (steel wool, steel particles from pipes, water con-
taining iron), this can trigger corrosion. You must therefore use refined steel wool or brushes with nat-
ural, plastics or refined steel bristles only for physical cleaning. Steel wool or brushes with unalloyed
steel cause extraneous rust due to abrasion.
