Design Considerations
Fixed/Adjustable Tops
Adjustable top drains enable vertical adjustment of the top assembly, to more easily
match the finished floor. Cleanout tops should be aesthetically pleasing, and have
sufficient load capacity for the area being serviced.
Finished/Unfinished Areas
Finished area top specifications should be nickel bronze, or optional stainless steel.
Ductile iron is typically used in unfinished areas, where appearance is not a primary
concern.
Cleanout Plugs
Straight thread ANSI gasketed brass plugs are standard in all metal cleanouts.
PVC/ABS cleanouts are supplied with a two-piece gasket seal poly plug. All Watts
cleanout plugs are gastight, water tight, removable, and hold test.
Commonly Specified Options
-6 Vandal Proof
Grate secured with Allen Head screws. Security screws (Torx & Pin, Allen & Pin) may
be specified for high security applications.
-13 Galvanized
Standard zinc galvanizing , commonly specified above grade in highly corrosive
coastal environments or industrial areas.
-C Membrane Clamp
Specified in floors with a waterproofing membrane, generally in above grade
applications.
-CF Carpet Clamping Flange
For CO-200-R securely clamps carpeting to the cleanout cover.
-US Buy American Compliant
Product will be supplied with minimum 51% domestic content, in compliance with
FAR 52.225-9 Buy America Act
