• Mark the ends of each bunonhole
horizontallv aaoss the centre line basting
and use the centre line rnarking as the
buttonhole guide when stitching.
Buttonhole Length
• The buttonhole length should be just long
enough to allow the button to slip through
the opening without stretching it,
• To rnake sure the measurement is corract,
cut a slit. in a saap of fabric equal to the
diameter of the biitton vou intend to use.
• Inaease length of opening until button slips
through easilv,
This test is particularlv advisable for buttons of
unusual shape or thickness.
