The menu ¡Setup, Assignment, Controls contains
a list of all the transmitter controls which are managed
by the software:

In this menu you can change the assignment of the
controls in any way you wish, i.e. you can change the
arrangement to suit your personal preferences.

What are switches?

Switches are all those elements which control trans-
mitter functions such as Dual-Rate, Combi-Switch,
Timer, Flight phases, ...
The menu ¡Setup, Assignment, Switches con-
tains a list of all the switches which are managed by
the software.
Transmitter controls can also be used to switch cer-
tain functions. Example: the motor run time can be
recorded using the timer ´ (sum timer), if you use the
throttle control as the switch to control this timer. It
makes no difference whether the throttle control is a
stick, a slider or a switch:

In this menu you can change the switch assignment
exactly as you wish, i.e. to suit your personal prefer-
ences and requirements.

Why "global" assignments?

Every model pilot has his own ideas about the ideal
layout of the transmitter controls.
Examples: when flying power models a pilot may al-
ways control throttle with the stick, but use switch G
for his electric gliders. The glider aero-tow release
might always be switch I. When flying model helicop-
ters he may always control idle-up with slider F.
To ensure that our pilot is not obliged to enter this in-
formation for each new model, he uses "global" as-
signment lists for each model category (maximum five
lists). Once he has defined the control assignment at
this point, it can be used for as many models of the
same category as he likes.
The fact that these lists can be altered at any time is
one factor in the flexibility of the ROYAL
ever, a high level of standardisation is important in
order to avoid confusion, and that is why we limit the
number of assignment lists to five. This level of stan-
dardisation also helps to avoid operating the wrong
controls in flight.
If you subsequently wish to change an assignment,
perhaps to take into account new methods of control
or habits, all you have to do is enter the change in the

Which assignment lists are available?

The ROYAL provides five assignment lists: three
are pre-defined, and bear the names POWER, GLIDER,
HELI. Lists 4 and 5 are empty; by default they are
named "4......." and "5.......". All five lists and
their names can be changed in any way you wish.
