It is used to measure the freezing point of
cooling systems based on ethylene and
propylene glycol and of cleaning liquid, as
well as for checking the strength of the elec-
trolytic solutions of batteries. It is also appro-
priate to determine the urea content in fuel
deposits by using reducing agents (AdBlue,
EcoBlue). Calibration is made with distilled
water.

They are very useful to measure the dissol-
ved solids content (%Brix) or refractive index
(nD) in aqueous solutions.
