Gear Lubrication
7
For lubricating the ball bearings, it is necessary
to use a special „gear grease" (order no.
0083180). The lubrication has to be checked in
regular intervals (approx. every 50 operating
hours -at heavy use every 20 operating hours),
and if necessary, be replenished.
Remove the plug on the side. If the end of the
plug does not show any sign of oil, it is
necessary to replenish the lubricant (replenish
with approx. 5 - 10 grams, (1/4 oz.). Replace
plug and tighten.
General Maintenance Hints
After the brushcutter has been in operation for
5 hours, all accessible screws and nuts (except
the carburetor adjusting screws) should be
checked and, if necessary, tightened. Any service
that is not described in the owner's manual can
only be conducted by a Workshop Service Cen-
ter.
Avoid any clogging in the area of the cutting
tools and the debris guard. In case there is
some clogging, always stop the engine first
before cleaning. Inspect the cutting tool at
regular short intervals. Check immediately as
soon as the tool feels out of order. Also check
the sharpness of the blade. To inspect the
cutting tool, stop the engine, firmly hold the
machine and push the cutting tool towards
the ground to stop the tool rotation. Check
and inspect the tool for any cracks.
Blunt or slightly damaged cutting tools must be
repaired immediately. Sound test the blade.
Always stop the engine and remove spark cap
when replacing cutting tools. This will avoid
injuries from any unintentional starting of the
engine!
Maintenance Recommendations
• Maintenance jobs which are not
described in the owner's manual are only to
be made by an authorized Service Center.
Only new parts are to be used.
• Do not attempt to make any changes on the
brushcutter - your own safety can be
jeopardized.
Do not perform maintenance or
store unit near open fires.
• When installing the cutting attachments, use
only original parts and tools.
• Check the fuel cap regularly for leaks. Use only
spark plugs that are in good condition. Check
plug wire for damage.
• Do not operate brushcutter with a broken or
damaged muffler (danger of fire, hearing loss).
Do not touch hot muffler.

Transport
During transport, and when changing cutting
location, it is necessary to turn the brushcutter off.
- Never carry or transport the brushcutter
when the engine is running.
- If the brushcutter is to be carried a long
distance, the metal-cutting blade should
be covered for protection.
When transporting the brushcutter in a
vehicle, special attention needs to be
paid that fuel does not spill.
- The fuel tank should be completely
emptied for extended storage or
shipping.
- When moving from one work area to
another, it is necessary to shut off the
engine. When the brushcutter is
transported, and the carrying strap is
not used, it is necessary to protect the
metal cutting blade from contact
(illustration 8).
Fueling
Fuel and oil mixture
Fuel: The brushcutter's engine is equipped
with a 2-cycle engine and requires a fuel
mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle air-cooled
engine oil. Fuel: The engine of your
brushcutter is a high-performance 2 cycle
engine requiring the use of a fuel-oil mixture.
The fuel-oil mixture can also available from
trade stores. Important: Lead-free regular
gasoline, lead-free Euro-gasoline or Super un-
leaded may be used (minimum octane count
92 ROZ).
Ratio: We recommend a gasoline/oil ratio of
50 : 1 (2%) when using "Castrol Super TT" or
Superior 2-cycle oil.
If other premium 2-cycle oils are used, we
recommend a gasoline/oil ratio of 25 : 1 (4%).
Tip: Do not store the mixture more than 3 to 4
weeks.
