12.3. Air filter maintenance
Dirty air filters will restrict the air flow to the carburetor. To avoid carburetor malfunctioning, carry out the air filter maintenance
regu-larly. Carry out maintenance more frequently when operating the sprayer in very dusty conditions.
WARNING!
When cleaning the air filter element, never use gasoline or flammable solvents. This may result in fire or
explosion.
CAUTION!
Never use the engine without the air filter. This may cause engine damage.
a. Move the choke lever to the CLOSED position.
b. b.Remove the air filter cover by releasing the upper guide on the top of the cover and then th other two lower guides.
c. Remove the filter element.
d. Wash the element with water and mild soap. Soak the element in clean engine oil and squeeze it to remove the excess of oil.
e. Clean the dirt from the air filter cover and body using a damp cloth. Be careful not to let dirt get into the carburetor.
1) Clean
f. Reinstall the air filter element.
g. Reinstall the air filter cover by inserting the lower guides first and then the upper guide.
