Torch Safety
When the torch is switched on, the following must be observed:
•
Do not look directly into the lens
•
Do not shine into a person's eyes or an animal's eyes
•
Do not point the beam at: cars, motorcycles, aircraft, ships or any other vehicle or machinery that is
operated by a person. Bright light can be blinding and you could cause a serious accident
Battery Safety
WARNING: Li-ion batteries, if incorrectly used, stored or charged, are a fire, burn and explosion hazard.
•
Keep the battery out of reach of children
•
ONLY charge li-ion batteries using the charger provided or one designed specifically for the product
•
ONLY use li-ion batteries provided with a product or specifically designed to be compatible
•
Allow batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or heavy use. Failure to follow these instructions may
cause overheating or fire
•
When not in use batteries should be stored at room temperature (approximately 20˚C)
•
Ensure battery contacts cannot accidentally short in storage. Keep batteries clean; foreign objects or dirt
may cause a short. Keep away from other metal objects, for example paperclips, coins, keys, nails and
screws
•
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery. This liquid may cause skin irritation or
burns. Avoid contact. If contact occurs accidentally, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical
help
•
DO NOT open, disassemble, crush, heat above 60°C, or incinerate. Do not dispose of in fire or similar

•
Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged,
have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Operation
Note: For instructions regarding charging batteries and further information on the GMC 18V batteries please
read the supplied instructions with the GMC 18V power tool or battery charger.
IMPORTANT: GMC 18V li-Ion batteries must only be charged with a GMC 18V battery charger (not supplied).
Installing a battery
•
Fit a charged battery by sliding it onto the base of the worklight until it clicks and locks into position
NOTE: Make sure the battery and worklight are lined up correctly. If the battery does not slide onto the base of
the worklight easily, don't force it. Instead, slide the battery out of the worklight and check the top of the battery
and the battery slot of the worklight are clean and undamaged, and that the contacts are not bent.
Removing a battery
•
Remove the battery from the worklight by pressing the battery release button on the battery; then slide the

Operating the worklight
•
Switch the worklight on or off by pressing the On/Off Switch (4)
•
Adjust the Spotlight (1) direction by turning the Spotlight (1) at the Swivel Joint (2). It adjusts from 0 - 270°
with 6 click stop positions
•
Adjust the torch head assembly angle at the Angle Joint (3). It adjusts from 0 - 180° with 6 click stop
positions
Note: Be careful not to damage the worklight when adjusting the angle and swivel positions.
•
The worklight features a built in Hanging Hook (Image B) . Push upwards to release from the tool body
•
The high capacity of GMC Li-Ion 18V batteries means the runtime operating the torch will exceed 9 hours
for the standard capacity 18V 1.5Ah battery. The very low self-discharge rate of li-ion batteries means the
worklight will be available for use for many months before charging is required
Accessories
•
A range of GMC accessories are available from your GMC dealer. GMC 18V power tools share use of the
same batteries and battery charger, so by purchasing additional 18V power tools you can supplement your
number of batteries and even have the ability to charge more than one battery simultaneously. This will
increase the frequency of charged battery packs for larger DIY projects.
