5.2 First use
To activate the pewag levo clamp LC, press the on/off button
on the battery (see table). The device is ready for use as soon
as the red light expires. Important: Only start using the
pewag levo clamp LC when the red light has expired.
On the battery/casing of the pewag levo clamp LC, you will find
the following buttons and information symbols:
Button/symbol
On/off button
Charge status
display
Status display*
Battery lock
Open/close button
* There are four potential reasons why the status display will
light up:
1. The device is malfunctioning.
2. The test interval for the device has been exceeded.
3. Pairing mode (see section 5.4).
4. If the pewag levo clamp LC is turned on and off.
In case of malfunctioning, try acknowledging the fault memory
by deactivating the device using the on/off button. Wait 10
seconds before reactivating the pewag levo clamp LC. If the
status display no longer lights up, the error was temporary.
Continue using the device as normal.
If the status display lights up again immediately or after a
short period, the device must be inspected by pewag or by an
authorised pewag dealer and repaired as required.

and chapter 9 „Cleaning, maintenance, regular inspections.

the battery. If all three green

levo clamp LC as there is a
risk of limbs getting crushed.
5.3 Operating the pewag levo remote
standard radio control
Using the radio control, it is possible to operate the pewag levo
clamp LC within a radius of up to 100m. Ideally, the pewag levo
clamp LC should be within the operator's direct line of vision.
The battery provided must be inserted in the radio control unit prior
to first use. Please consult chapter 9.4 „Exchanging the battery
in the pewag levo remote radio control" to find out how to do this
correct. You will find the following buttons and/or information
symbols on the levo remote:

*Setting the transmitting signal (reach):
The radio control unit comes with a factory preset medium
transmitting signal (range). The transmitting signal may be
adjusted as follows:
Hold down the status query + clamp lighting button
simultaneously until one cell of the battery status display on the
remote control begins to flash. Use the status query
(+ increase reach) and clamp lighting button (– decrease reach)
to adjust the transmitting signal.
If one green LED lights up, the transmitting signal is at the
weakest setting. If the red LED lights up, the transmitting signal
is at the strongest setting. The setting mode will terminate
automatically after a few short flashes. If the display ceases
to flash, the setting mode has terminated and the new setting
applies. Please note that a stronger transmitting signal will
shorten the lifespan of the integrated battery (coin cell).
°Power save mode:
To prolong the lifetime of the battery cell used for the pewag
levo remote control, a power save mode can be adjusted.
Warning: This is achieved by deactivating the response in
case of open or close operations. If the power save mode is
activated there are no error warnings shown on the pewag
levo remote control.
