Inspection and Maintenance
5.1.3 Leak testing
(1)
Upon completion of whip(s) replacement, attach cylinder to one whip, close bleed valve, and open
cylinder.
Docking the cylinder back into the holder will allow additional slack in the High Pressure Whip
reducing stress in the airline when reconnecting the CGA-347 hand wheel.
The front panel will have to pivot back to a 45° angle to allow the CGA Connection to occur
unencumbered.
Temporarily placing one of the lower hose rack screws into the side of the housing will allow the
panel to rest at a 45° angle.
(2)
Check for leaks at connection points using a leak detection solution (i.e. Snoop) and look for bubbles.
(3)
If bubbles are present, turn cylinder off, open bleed valve and depressurize whip per steps 1-3 of the
Replacement Procedure.
Follow the remaining steps of the Replacement Procedure before repeating the leak test.
5.1.4 Reinstalling Panel
(1)
Pivot panel back to the vertical position carefully ensuring whip(s) are in proper position to avoid being
pinched or kinked.
Ensure that the panel edges and inserts clear the frame sides. This may require some light pres-
sure on the contact surfaces of the panel.
(2)
Once panel is vertical, install two (2) Phillips head screws into screw holes.
(3)
Use a Phillips #2 Screw Driver to tighten all screws.
Once the panel is secured, the lower hose rack should be secured to the frame.
There are a series of washers in the installation of the lower hose rack. Be sure not to misplace
any. A washer is found between each contact surface (i.e. each side gets 3 washers, 6 total).
(4)
Reinstall cylinder in cart securely.
(5)
Connect hand tight fittings to cylinders.
