replaced. Failure to do so could result in possible
serious injury.
WARNING: Do not attempt to modify this
circular saw or create accessories not recom-
mended for use with this saw. Any such altera-
tion or modification is misuse and could result
in a hazardous condition leading to possible
serious injury.
WARNING: To prevent accidental starting
that could cause serious personal injury, always
remove the battery pack from the circular when
assembling parts.
UNPACKING
This product has been shipped completely as-
sembled.
1. Carefully remove the tool and any accessories
from the box. Make sure that all items listed in
the packing list are included.
2. Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no
breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
3. Do not discard the packing material until you
have carefully inspected and satisfactorily oper-
ated the tool.
TO ATTACH BATTERY PACK (FIG. 1)
Align the raised rib
on the battery pack
with the grooves on
the bottom of the
jig saw and then
attach the battery
pack to the jig saw.
CAUTION:
When
placing the battery
pack in the tool, be
sure that the raised
rib on battery pack aligns with the groove on
the jig saw and that the latches snap into place
properly. Improper assembly of the battery pack
can cause damage to internal components.
TO DETACH BATTERY PACK (FIG. 1)
1. Depress the battery-release button located on
the front of the battery pack to release battery
pack.
2. Pull the battery backward and remove it from
the tool.
SWITCHING ON AND OFF (FIG. 2)
To turn the jig saw ON, keep the lock-off button
depressed and squeeze the trigger switch. To
turn it OFF, release the trigger switch.
CAUTION: Allow the blade to come to a com-
plete stop before setting the jigsaw down.

VARIABLE SPEED TRIGGER SWITCH (FIG. 2)
This
tool
has
a
variable
speed
switch that delivers
higher speed with
increased
trigger
pressure. Speed is
controlled by the
amount of switch
trigger depression.
NOTICE:
Use
the
variable speed feature for a short time only. Do
not continuously operate the tool at different
speeds. It may damage the switch.
ELECTRIC BRAKE
To stop the jig saw, release the trigger switch
and allow the tool to come to a complete stop.
The electric brake quickly stops the saw blade
stroke. This feature engages automatically
when you release the trigger switch.
LED WORKLIGHT (FIG. 3)
The LED worklight,
located above the
tool-less
blade
clamp,
provides
additional lighting
on the surface of
the workpiece for
operation in lower-
light areas. The LED
worklight will come
on
automatically
when the trigger switch is depressed, and it will
turn off when the trigger switch is released.
REMOVING SAW BLADE (FIG. 4)
CAUTION: Allow the
blade to cool after
use. The blade can
become
danger-
ously hot.
1. Remove the bat-
tery pack.
2. Press down on the
blade clamp lever to
remove the blade.
3. The clamp stays open when the blade is re-
moved; it automatically locks when you push in
another blade, providing for very easy one-hand
blade change.
