PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Preventive Maintenance Routines
The following routines shall be done by the owner:
1- Clean or replace the return air filter (*);
WEEKLY
2- Inspect the condition of tightening and aligning of the compressor and alternator belts paying attention to wearing.
(*) Clean the air return filter of the defroster for the same frequency.
The following routines must be done by the Authorized Service Network:
1- Clean the condenser coil. (Use only neutral soap and water that are not aggressive to copper and aluminum); See note (**)
2- Clean the evaporator coil. (Use only neutral soap and water that are not aggressive to copper to aluminum); See note (**)
3- Check tightness of the power cables from the alternator, main fuse, electrical board and starter motor;
4- Measure current consumption of condenser fans and evaporator fans. (checkup of air flow);
5- Measure the resistance of the electromagnetic clutch coil;
6- Measure alternator voltage and current;
7- Clean the evaporator drains;
8- Visually inspect air conditioning components looking for: oil leakage, refrigerant leakage;
EVERY
Check for loose, damaged, broken parts or wearing and tearing, oxidation, deterioration or friction with the bus body;
20.000 km
IMPORTANT: the components that are not in perfect conditions of application should be replaced preventatively for safety reasons.
9- Clean the air conditioning equipment eliminating dust and dirt in the components of the evaporator, condenser, compressor / clutch, controller
and fuse central; See note (**)
10- Check the closing of the hoods to avoid the external air intake into the evaporator;
11- Test the functions of the equipment: cooling / ventilation (high and low speed), heating and air renewal (fan);
12- Check the refrigerant charge. After 15 minutes of operation the coolant should flow through the liquid sight glass without bulbs.
13- Measure the discharge suction pressures, check the temperature and conditions of the suction and discharge lines.
IMPORTANT: failure to perform preventive maintenance as described in this chapter will result in the loss of all or part of the warranty coverage.
Maintenance actions, described in this manual, have been considered for normal operating conditions.
If conditions are great demand and environmental contamination, the frequency of maintenance shall be higher.
NOTE (**) : when doing cleaning, whenever you splash water, please protect the electrical and electronic components to prevent damage.
