the gear loops or use them for belaying,
rappelling or anchoring (Figures 6 and 7).
Climbing harness buckles hold the webbing
ѥ
securely when loaded. When not loaded, or
when repetitively loaded and unloaded the
webbing may gradually creep through the
buckle and eventually come undone. Check
your harness frequently during use to ensure
that the waistbelt is snug.
For those harnesses having a rear haul loop
ѥ
and/or Ice Clipper slots on the waistbelt,
do not use these features for anchoring,
rapelling or tying in (Figure 8).
In the event of unconsciousness this
ѥ
harness will NOT keep you in an upright
position unless combined with a chest
harness.
Use caution and check your buckles frequently when using your harness
ѥ
in wet and/or icy conditons.
If you are wearing a backpack while wearing your harness, you
should consider using a chest harness (Type D harness) with
your sit harness to help keep you upright if you should fall.
Always consider how a rescue might be best carried out in case
you or others are in need.
We strongly discourage acquiring secondhand equipment. In
order to fully trust your gear you must know its history of use.
