HINTS FOR PROPER REFRIGERATION
When the refrigeration system is functioning properly and not at minimum, it takes approximately
35 minutes to bring the temperature inside the refrigeration cell from 25 °C to +5 °C (above zero
°C system operating with R134a gas) or the same amount of time to bring the refrigeration cell
from +25 °C to -18 °C (below zero °C system operating with R404A gas).
The refrigeration system also acts as a dehumidifier. The water withdrawn tends to freeze on the
evaporating surface, reducing system performance.
To maintain system function, this ice must be regularly removed. This defrost procedure must be
performed manually whenever excessive ice forms in the unit. It can be performed automatically
according to when foreseen by modifying the parameters for the control device (see attached ta-
ble).
IMPORTANT
To safeguard the entire system, the refrigeration system must be run for a few minutes at
least once a week (in all weather). In addition, the inspection and maintenance intervals
must be respected.
TEMPERATURES FOR THE PRESERVATION OF PERISHABLE UNFROZEN GOODS
The best way to guarantee the preservation of perishable goods (foods, pharmaceuticals, flowers,
etc.) is to keep them at low temperatures. This procedure slows down, and in some cases stops,
the chemical and biological alteration of such products.
The table below summarizes the most common temperatures used to preserve perishable goods.
IMPORTANT
The temperatures reported in the table below are only INDICATIVE. Should they differ from
those indicated by the PRODUCERS of the items being transported, follow their indications
TO THE LETTER.

TEMPERATURES FOR THE TRANSPORTATION AND PRESERVATION OF FROZEN
FOODS
The vehicle refrigeration system must not be used to freeze or deep-freeze foods placed in the
refrigeration cell. Other industrial facilities serve this purpose. The refrigerator is only to be used
to transport and preserve these foods for a short period of time.
When making partial deliveries, where the hatch is to be opened many times, a +3 °C rise in tem-
perature vs. the values indicated in the table below is acceptable.
