CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation, switch off the appliance and
unplug it from the mains power.
The dirt cleaned up by the appliance enters the container (C). The air is then cleaned by a permanent
washable filter inside the container (C), by a motor protection filter (D) and by an air outlet filter, on
the back of the appliance.
WARNING: Never use the vacuum cleaner if any filter is missing or damaged. Any dust cleaned up
will enter the appliance and damage the motor.
WARNING: Clean the filters regularly or in any case, whenever the suction power seems to be res t
duced.
Emptying the dust from the container (C)
When you notice that there is a high level of dust in the container, then it needs to be emptied.
s Remove the cover (A) and the tank (C), complete with water filter (B) as described previously (Fig.
2 and 3).
s Remove the water filter (B) (Fig. 4) and empty the container (C).
s To clean the inside of the appliance, clean the washable filter under running water: disassemble
the filter and clean each of the parts.
s To refit the filter, follow the same steps in reverse order.
IMPORTANT: When the dust container is full, it is a good idea to place a plastic bag over it and to
empty it into the bag to prevent the dirt from escaping.
CAUTION: Once the container has been completely emptied, vacuum up approximately one litre of
water to rinse the inside of the hose (M) and the telescopic tube (Z). Repeat the operation, if necess t
sary. To dry the inside of these two attachments, operate the appliance for a few minutes without
fitting any brush or cleaning up any dirt.
Cleaning/Replacing the motor air filter (D)
The motor air filter needs to be cleaned regularly and replaced every 6 to 9 months, according to
use.
s Remove the cover (A) and the tank (C), complete with water filter (B) as described previously (Fig.
2 and 3).
s Use the relevant lever to remove the filter container (D) (Fig. 12).
s Take out the filter (Fig. 13). If it is very dirty, wash it in warm water, rinse well and leave it to dry
naturally. Do NOT use artificial means to dry the filter. Contact an Assistance Centre to replace
the filter when needed.
s To refit the filter, follow the above steps in reverse order.
CAUTION: Only ever wash the filter with clean water, without using soap or detergent.
CAUTION: This operation is necessary at least every 6 months or in any case when you see that the
suction action is visibly reduced.
