1 • DESCRIPTION
The KINETEC 6080 is used for passive mobilization of the Kip, providing the following motion:
• Extension-Flexion of the Hip: 0° to 120°
• Extension-Flexion combined with abduction.
A-Exerciser • B-Femoral adjustment device • C-Leg cradle support • D-Leg cradle • E-Bed frame attachment
• F-Guard • G-Column • H-Base • I-Control box rack • J-Control box.
2 • ASSEMBLY
-Position the column (G) onto the base (H) following the instructions.
-Unscrew the knob (1) from base (A) completely.
-Put the washer (a) of the support (2) against the washer of the unit (A).
-Screw the knob (1) and tighten it.
-Unscrew the fly nut (3) and take the ring (4) out of the column (G).
-Position the rack (I), reposition the ring (4) and fly nut (3), tighten them.
-Slide the support (B) onto the unit (A), tighten the knob (14).
3 • ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: SAFETY FIRST.
The KINETEC 9081 is a Type B Class I machine.
Before plugging in the machine, make certain that the available voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the back of
the control box (110 or 240 Vac 50/60Hz).
Connect the cords to the back of the control box as shown in the drawing.
IMPORTANT:
Cords must be securely fastened.
Check to be sure that the plug fits the socket being used.
The socket must be grounded.
Use only the power cord delivered with the KINETEC.
Make sure that the power cords are not tangled during operation.
4 • START UP
Turn on the power switch (5). The green light will turn on.
START / STOP / REVERSE function
The KINETEC 9081 is equipped with a START/STOP/REVERSE function:
- Press the button once, the machine starts.
- Press the button twice, the machine stops
- Press the button a third time, the machine reverses direction..
IMPORTANT: for maximum safety, the hand control should always be given to the patient.
Adjusting the SPEED
The SPEED is set by turning the button (6). Minimum speed is all the way to the left; maximum speed is all the way to the right.
The speed can be modified while the machine is running or stationary.
5 • SAFETY
The healthcare professional determines the CPM protocol to be used (set up, duration and frequency of each session).
The patient must understand the Start/Stop/Reverse function of the hand control.
The KINETEC 9081 unit is CE marked.
DANGER: Risk of explosion if used with flammable anesthetics.
6 • USE OF THE KINETEC HYGIENIC PADS
For using and positioning the straps, please refer to the drawing.
Place the sponge side next to the skin.
For cleaning, see paragraph 17.

7 • POSITION THE BASE (H) UNDER THE BED
-Position the 2 longer legs toward the bed.
-Slide the base (H) under the bed so the column is (G) in contact with the mattress.
-Lock the wheels.
-Lower the unit until it pressed lightly on the mattress.
-Lock the screw (7) to secure the unit (2).
8 • CLAMP THE UNIT (A) ON THE BED
-Set the bed frame attachment (E) on the foot board bar or on a vertical or horizontal octagonal bar.
9 • SET UP THE UNIT FOR A LEFT LEG
-Unscrew the knob (1) and rotate the unit to 180° if necessary.
-Then set up part (C) on the left side of the leg cradle (D), make sure the guide (8) enters in the hole of the cradle articulation,
and tighten the knob (9).
-Put the assembly (D-C) against the unit, slide the fork under the knob (11) of part (B), and tighten it.
10 • SET UP THE UNIT FOR A RIGHT LEG
-Unscrew the knob (1) and rotate the unit to 180° if necessary.
-Then set up part (C) on the left side of the leg cradle (D), make sure the guide (8) enters in the hole of the cradle articulation,
and tighten the knob (9).
-Put the assembly (D-C) against the unit, slide the fork under the knob (11) of part (B), and tighten it.
