7.5 Insertion of 250 μ fiber in the splice

7.5.1 Lift the fiber holder (7) and hinge it
to the horizontal position (without sliding).
Check the cleave length and position of the
coating using the cleave length indicator
(14). If the length is not correct, follow
instructions in section 8.4.
7.5.2 Guide the cleaved fiber into the
splice by sliding gently the fiberholder (7) till
it clicks. If during this action the fiber buckles
extensively, pull back the fiberholder (7) and
slide again.
7.6 Insertion of 900 μ tight fiber in the
splice
7.6.1 To install a tight 900 μ fiber, use a
fiber guiding block.
7.6.2 Position the fiber guiding block on
the tool.
7.6.3 Slide the fiber guiding block
underneath the fiber holder.
