Thank you for choosing the sera multi fil 350.
The sera multi fil 350 is suitable as a filter for the
quick application of special filter media (without net).
Another advantage of this media container is that the
water optimally circulates around the used filter mate-
rials. This is not the case with many external filters,
since the filter media are inside a net bag that is
placed in the filter basket, where flow velocity and
water circulation are too low.
The sera multi fil 350 helps avoid using unnecessar-
ily large amounts of expensive special filter materials,
which saves money and valuable resources.
Application and application range
The sera multi fil 350 ideally increases the filter
capacity of freshwater and marine aquariums. The fil-
ter can be used with an aquarium pump inside (1) and
outside (2) the aquarium, or it is simply integrated in
the circuit of an external filter (3).
The sera multi fil 350 is optimized for special filter
media such as sera phosvec Granulat, sera marin
silicate clear, sera super carbon and sera super
peat. The grain size of further filter media should not
be smaller than 3 mm in diameter, as to prevent the
flow resistance becoming too high. Approximately
350 ml (11.8 fl.oz.) filter medium can be filled into the
filter. The following filter materials are suitable for these
applications:
a) Removal of treatment remainders, humic sub-
stances and other dissolved organic substances
We recommend sera super carbon for this pur-
pose. After a disease treatment, remainders still
remain present in the water even after several water
changes. These substances can be absorbed
within a few days by sera super carbon. Dispose
of the active carbon after use.
b) Phosphate removal
sera phosvec Granulat has been proving well for
removing phosphate for years. The high capacity of
the material and its biological compatibility make it
a successful product.
c) Silicate removal
High silicate levels are a problem particularly in
marine water. Since silicate is often added to tap
water for corrosion prevention, tap water should be
filtered with sera marin silicate clear before con-
ditioning it to marine water.
d) pH lowering and hardness removal
sera super peat blackpeat granulate allows adjust-
ing the water to the requirements of certain tropical
fish. When the desired water values are achieved,
the peat granulate can be removed conveniently
and quickly by using the sera multi fil 350.
