• The Liner must always be stored in its original form on the liner stand; otherwise damage can occur (Fig. 8).
• It must be ensured that no foreign bodies, such as grains of sand, carbon fibers or glass (prosthetist work
area), are deposited on the silicone liner surfaces. Often, simply washing the dirty liner is not sufficient since
these foreign objects can migrate into the soft silicone material and thus destroy the liner. In addition, this can
cause significant skin irritation.
• Please note that many shower gels, soaps, bath products, deodorants, perfumes, alcohol sprays, etc. can cause
skin irritations due to fragrances and/or dyes. To prevent any possible skin problems, these should NOT be
used when applying a silicone liner on the residual limb (Fig. 9).
• When use of the liner is started, increased perspiration on the residual limb may occur. However, this subsides
over the first two weeks. Under these circumstances, the silicone liner and the residual limb should be cleaned
several times a day. It is advisable to request a second silicone liner for daily changing or as a substitute. The
same goes for seasons in which there are high outdoor temperatures. In this case, the entire body – and thus
also the residual limb in the silicone liner – sweat more strongly.
• If dry skin is noted, apply Iceross Clean and Simple Moisturizing Lotion to nourish and soften the skin. All
Iceross lotions are pH balanced, 100% fragrance- and dye-free and will not leave an oily residue. Do NOT apply
lotion to the residual limb immediately prior to donning the liner.
NOTES REGARDING SAFETY
• The liner must be carefully washed 2-3 times before first use.
• The trimmed liner must not have any corners, edges and folds; these can lead to tears in the material and/or to
skin problems.
• Please carefully follow the instructions for putting on your liner.
• Please care for your liner and for your skin as described; experience has shown that lack of care leads to the
most common cases of skin irritation.
• The liner must NOT be pulled up with sharp objects or fingernails (Fig. 10).
• Please do not use alcohol spray to help put on the liner or the prosthesis shaft (Fig 4).
• The liner must NOT be washed in the washing machine (Fig. 11 ).
