5. Capacitance measurement (see Fig. 7)
When there is no input, the meter will display a fixed reading, which is the inherent capacitance
of the meter. For capacitance measurement at small range position, this value must be
subtracted from the measured value to ensure measurement accuracy. For this purpose, the
relative measurement REL function of the meter can be utilized for automatic subtraction, in
order to facilitate reading.
Note:
* If the measured capacitor is shorted or the capacitance exceeds the maximum range of the
meter, "OL" will appear on the display.
* For the measurement of large-capacity capacitors, it may take several seconds to obtain
measurements, which is normal.
* Before the test, the capacitor must be completely discharged and then measured. This is
especially important for capacitors with high voltage to avoid damage to the meter and personal
injury.
* If the measured capacitor is live, discharge may occur during the test, and "DISCHARGE" will
appear on the screen.
6. Frequency/duty cycle measurement (see Fig. 8)
When the meter is set to the frequency measurement position, press "Hz/%" to select the
auxiliary display cycle/ duty cycle measurement mode.
Note:
* The input voltage shall be not higher than DC 30V or AC 30V; otherwise, personal injury may occur.
