Connecting the telephone

1. Disconnect the telephone flex with handset from
your telephone by removing the modular plug
from the telephone.
2. Connect the handset to the amplifier.

2. Pick up the handset and check whether you hear
a dial tone.
The Clarity™ Amplifier EHA40 cannot be connected
to a telephone with the dialling mode installed in
the handset.

Using the amplifier
Boost Function (see
The Clarity™ Amplifier EHA40 amplifies incoming
sound up to 15 decibels as a standard.
If you press the Boost button
will provide additional amplification up
to 40 decibels.
Press and hold down the boost button for more
amplification. It also eliminates any background
noise and feedback by muting the microphone in
your handset. You must remember to release the
button when you speak so that the other party can
hear you, then press and hold the boost button
again when they speak.
Therefore:
– when you speak RELEASE the boost button.
– when you listen PRESS the boost button,
for extra amplification.
The boost function switches off automatically when
you place the handset back on the base.
