2. The Manumed Special Tilt is a treatment couch for rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Although the
bench states safety class II (IEC 60601-1), this bench is not suitable for use in an intensive care
environment.
3. The height adjustment and the incline of the Manumed Special Tilt are achieved by 2 independent
motors. This independence is achieved through pre-programmed control. This control also
ensures that the combination of the tilting of the bench and the height adjustment cannot lead to
hazardous situations.
Should the bench in a tilted position threaten to become too low (so that the foot section of the
bench would hit the floor), the motor will automatically stop. You must then press the operating
button once again; then the inclination will first be reduced, and the bench will be lowered further
in a safe manner.
4. Your Manumed is delivered as standard with an operating manual. This manual, as well as the
test certificate, is part of the product. Always keep the documentation together with the table and
make sure that it is available for every operator at all times.
5. Never commence tilting before the section footrest is placed in the correct upwards position.
6. Never adjust a section when it supports the full weight of the patient. Each section of this
Manumed is supported by gas springs. As well as easing operation they offer full support of the
sections. However, these gas springs are not strong enough to lift a section while it supports the
full weight of the patient.
7. Use both hands to change the couch settings: one hand for unlocking and the other to adjust the
section.
8. A maximum patient's weight of 150 kg is allowed when the height of the couch is being adjusted.
9. If the couch is equipped with an electric motor, never let the motor exceed 4 minutes continuous
operation. If this should happen, a thermal cut out shuts off the power and protects the motor
against overheating. In that case, remove the mains cable and let the motor cool down until it
functions again.
10. The couch is not anti-static.
11. The Manumed couches are not intended for use in so-called "wet rooms" (hydrotherapy rooms).
12. Allways use the original Enraf-Nonius accessories that are meant for this product.
13. The apparatus is only meant to be used by competent personnel in physiotherapy, rehabilitation
or adjacent areas. Avoid any use of the equipment by unauthorized personell.
14. The apparatus may not be used in close proximity (i.e. less than 2 metres) to shortwave
equipment.
15. When used by children, supervision by a knowledgeable (para)medic is obligatory. At all times
keep children away from the equipment when no supervision is at hand!
16. Use a clean couch cover / towel / terry cloth / paper cover for every individual. This is required to
guarantee a hygiënic use.
