Starting the engine

Press the fuel pump bulb (5) at least

been running but is still cold.
Turn thumb wheel as far as possible

Actuating
Place the unit on the ground in a
N
secure position It should rest on the
support on the engine and the
cutting attachment guard.
(if present): Remove the transport
N
guard on the cutting attachment
The cutting attachment must not touch
the ground or any other objects – risk of
accident!
safe standing - possibilities:
N
standing, bent or kneeling
Press the machine firmly against
N
the ground with the left hand – do
not touch the throttle trigger, throttle
trigger lockout or stop switch while
doing so
NOTICE
Do not stand or kneel on the shaft!
Grab the starter grip with your right
N
hand
Pull the starter grip slowly until you
N
feel it engage and then give it a
brisk, strong pull
NOTICE
Do not pull out the starter rope
completely – risk of breakage!
Do not let the starter grip snap back
N
– guide it slowly back into the
housing so that the starter rope can
rewind properly
actuate until the engine starts!

Once the engine is running
At temperatures below +10 °C (+50 °F)
Allow the machine to warm up in
position g for at least 10 seconds.
At temperatures over +10 °C (+50 °F)
Allow the machine to warm up in
position g for approx. 5 seconds.
