Lift contact ignition
This type of ignition involves the electrode coming into contact with the welding workpiece. The starting sequence is
as follows:
1- Touch the workpiece to be welded with the electrode tip.
2- Press the torch trigger: a very low current now begins to circulate in the workpiece to be welded, which will
not spoil the electrode at the stage when it is detached from the workpiece.
3- Lift the electrode tip from the workpiece: the electric arc is now triggered, the required welding current begins
to circulate in the workpiece and the shielding gas flow is activated.
