2.1.2 Installing Changeover Module and Adapter Lead
Note
Observe general information as well as the safety information provided in Chapter 1.
Preparation
All vehicles:
Print out fault code memory
Disconnect battery
Remove radio (only on vehicles without on-board monitor radio)
Remove front entrance strip on driver's side
Remove cover under instrument panel in footwell on driver's side
Remove A-pillar trim panel in footwell on driver's side
Remove (expose) door isolating connector on driver's side
Fold back (expose ground terminal point) carpet in footwell area on driver's side
Additionally necessary on vehicles with on-board monitor radio:
Remove rear entrance strip on driver's side
Remove bottom B-pillar trim panel on driver's side
Remove rear bench seat and rear seat backrest
Remove left-hand boot (trunk) trim panel
Additionally necessary on RHD vehicles:
Remove right-hand boot (trunk) trim panel
Remove trim panel on closing panel

The figure shows the front left entrance from the inside on an LHD vehicle with on-board monitor radio,
the same procedure is to be followed on RHD vehicles.
Firmly tighten branch A4, 6 mm cable eye, brown wire, from changeover module A at ground terminal point X173 in
footwell area on driver's side.
Branch A7, black 3-pin pin housing, blue/black, blue/brown, white/brown wire, is not required and must be tied
back.
On vehicles without on-board monitor radio:
Route branches A1, A2 and A3 to place of installation of radio (see Fig. A).
On vehicles with on-board monitor radio
Connect branch A1, black 2-pin pin housing, of changeover module A to branch B1, black 2-pin socket housing,
of adapter lead B.
Route adapter lead B together with branches B2, B3 and B4 along vehicle wiring harness on driver's side to rear to
the leadthrough grommet behind the backrest and from here through the leadthrough grommet into the boot (trunk)
to place of installation of on-board monitor radio (if necessary tie back surplus length) and firmly secure with cable
ties (see Fig. A).
