DC AND AC CURRENT MEASUREMENT (See Fig. 2)
Note: the current function is not autoranging. "AUTO" does not appear in
the display, and "MANU" is displayed instead. The meter has four current
ranges, which each have their own selector switch position.
Connect red test lead to the 400mA Input for current measurements up
to 400mA or to the 20A input for current measurements to twenty
amperes (20A for 30 seconds). Connect black test lead to COM Input
Connector. Set the Function Switch to the corresponding Current
range – to A when the test lead is connected to the 20A input (mA ranges
do not work with 20A input); to 4, 40 or 400mA when test lead is
connected to the 400mA input (depending on how small a current you are
going to measure).
your multimeter is in AC mode. "AC" is shown in the display. Push the
yellow SHIFT button to select DC mode. "DC" is shown in the display (the
SHIFT button toggles between the two modes). Open circuit in which
current is to be measured. Securely connect test leads in series with the
load. Turn on power to circuit being tested. Read current value on
Digital Display. With 400mA input used, switch from 400mA to 40 or
4mA range if setting is too high (If you are in DC mode, the mutimeter
falls back into AC mode each time you turn the selector switch – so you
also each time need to press the yellow SHIFT button to return into DC
mode).
Note 1: Each current input has a protective fuse installed. If fuse does
blow, see page 38 for replacement information.
Note 2 – Incorrect Input Warning: The buzzer sounds when a test
lead is connected to current input, but the selector switch is not set to a
current range.

Model 2015 is a True-RMS meter. See Voltage Measurement section
for further details.
