Electric windows
These can be operated from ignition
key position 1 onwards.
To open:
Press the switch in briefly beyond its
initial pressure point (one-touch func-
tion). The window then continues to
move automatically. To halt the move-
ment, press the switch in again briefly.
To close:
Press the switch as far as the initial
pressure point. The window will only
move while the switch is held in.
The windows can still be operated after
switching off the ignition:
> In ignition key positions 1 and 2 only
while the doors remain shut
> For about 15 minutes after removing
the ignition key.
The rear side windows cannot be
lowered. The corresponding switches
and safety switch (arrow) are therefore
disabled.
In view of the special protective
glass fitted to them, enhanced-
security vehicles' windows do not have
an anti-trap function. When closing a
window or the sunroof, you must there-
fore make sure that no-one is trapped.
Closing the window carelessly or
without observing its movement could
cause injuries if anyone is
trapped.<
Run-flat tyre systems
The BMW emergency run-flat tyre
system with integral support ring
enables the vehicle to continue moving
if pressure is lost suddenly from the
tyre.
Do not exceed a road speed of 80 km/h
(approx. 50 mph) and fit the spare
wheel before more than 20 kilometres
(approx. 13 miles) have been covered.
Do not re-use the tyre, the support
ring or the wheel until they have
been inspected by BMW
Service.<
The wheel supplied for use with the
BMW emergency run-flat tyre has a
raised safety hump inside the rim which
is intended to prevent the reinforced
tyre from slipping away from its correct
position on the rim if air pressure is lost.
Do not exceed a road speed of 80 km/h
(approx. 50 mph) and fit the spare
wheel when the first safe opportunity
arises.
If an emergency run-flat tyre is not
available as a replacement where
the tyre failure has occurred, a standard
tyre of the correct size can be fitted to
the rim with raised hump
instead.<
