2.3 Specific safety advice
2.3.1 ilmo 40 WT
Install a ilmo 40 WT motor in a roller tube with a minimum
thickness of 0.5 mm and a smooth inner surface:
with no welding, crimping, folding, etc. inside the tube.
2.3.2 Roller shutter
Check the strength of the roller shutter and its fittings.
The roller shutter must be fitted with:
– stops screwed onto the end slat, fixed (A) or removable
(B) stops incorporated in the runners, an end slat acting
as an end stop, rigid links (C) not screwed into the tube.
Check that the motor used is suitable for the size of roller
shutter, to avoid the risk of damaging the roller shutter and/
or the Somfy product.
Caution: For information about the compatibility of the motor
with the roller shutter and accessories, contact the roller
shutter manufacturer or Somfy.
2.3.3 Rigid links
After having affixed the roller shutter to the roller
tube, check that when the roller shutter is in the
lower end limit position, the rigid link is correctly
positioned and that the first slat is vertically between
the runners (as per F). If necessary, adjust the number
of slats used to improve the position of the rigid link
when the roller shutter is in the lower end limit position.
Always refer to the manufacturer's size and weight charts
and fitting recommendations for the rigid links to select
those suited to the roller shutter used.
Caution: Use at least 2 rigid links to attach the roller shutter
to the roller tube.

3. Installation

3.1 Motor preparation

1) Fit the crown (A) and the drive wheel (B) to the motor.
2) Measure the length (L1) between the base of the motor
head and the end of the drive wheel.

3.2 Preparing the tube

1) Cut the roller tube to the required length.
2) Deburr the roller tube and remove the swarf.
3) For smooth roller tubes, cut a notch with the following
measurements:
- e = 6 mm (0.24 in)
- h = 8 mm (0.31 in)
